Darvin Flatten,  92, Monticello, died Friday, July 6, 2012, at his residence.
Visitation was Monday, July 9, 5-8 p.m., at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 East Broadway, Monticello. Further visitation was held one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday.  Funeral service was Tuesday, July 10, 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 449 West Broadway, Monticello.  Rev. Sherri Sandoz officiated. Interment was at Lakewood Cemetery of Minneapolis.
Darvin was born in Bradley, S.D. on March 8, 1920, to Peter Albert and Melena (Rasmussen) Flatten. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the former owner of Kenwood Plumbing and past president of the Minnesota Plumbing Heating and Cooling Contractors (MNPHCC). He was also past master of the Zarther Lodge #709 and the Monticello Lodge #16.
Darvin is survived by his wife, Chris Flatten;  son Skip (Jo) Flatten;  three grandchildren;  five great-grandchildren;  three great-great-grandchildren;  and brother Roger (Jan) Flatten.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church of Monticello.
