OBIT: Edna Augusta Liefert, 97, Buffalo
Edna Augusta Liefert, 97, Buffalo, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo.
Funeral service was Monday, July 9, 2 p.m., at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church-Pelican Lake. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday, July 8, 4-8 p.m., at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.
Edna was born June 18, 1915, the daughter of Fred Mosher and his wife Alvina Meyer.
She married Edward Liefert on Oct. 22, 1930, at her home. The Lord blessed their union with four children, 3 sons and 1 daughter, George, Arnold, Richard and Joan.
She lived on the farm all her married life. She was a homemaker the entire time and also worked for 20 years doing house cleaning.
Edna was a faithful member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Ladies’ Aid and also taught Sunday School many years. She enjoyed her garden and cats.
She is survived by her daughter Joan Barthel, son George (Mabel) Liefert, son Richard (Betty) Liefert and daughter-in-law Lois Liefert, 17 grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren and thirty-five great-great-grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; son Arnold Liefert, and grandson Jerry Liefert; brother Fred Mosher, sister Florence (George) Ordorff, half sisters and brothers William and Emma Borscheid, John Borscheid, Harry and Betty Borscheid, Art and Hilda Borscheid, Matt and Dorothy Borscheid, Edward and Emma Borscheid, Alma and Everett Nelson, Anna Borscheid and Matta (Lyman) Lundquist.
Pallbearers were Tom Liefert, John Liefert, Jim Liefert, Sharon Liefert, Tim Barthel, and Linda Mattson.
