Earl L. Hiller, 89, Annandale

Earl Laverne Hiller, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the Annandale Care Center.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at the Peterson-Grimson Chapel in Monticello, Minn., with Pastor Green from St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church providing a brief service. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Monticello.
Earl was born Aug. 6, 1923, on a farm near East Chain, Minn. (Center Creek Township.) He graduated from East Chain High School and studied agriculture at the University of Minnesota.
Earl married Donna B. Meyer on June 8, 1945, at the Fox Lake Ballroom. He worked in mixed farming near East Chain in Martin County. He and Donna continued to enjoy music and dancing throughout their lives and also played ten pin bowling.
Earl was very handy in fixing whatever broke. He also could build whatever needed to be built.
In 1955, he purchased his farm in the Big Lake/Monticello area, where he settled and farmed alternating in different areas of agriculture.
In retirement Earl and Donna purchased and improved several homes in the Monticello area. They also motor-homed all over the United States.
Earl will be greatly missed by everyone.

    Earl was my neighbor for many years when I lived on 88th Steet Monticello. Both Donna and Earl were wonderfull people. Always so friendly and willing to lend a helping hand. I’m so glad I got to know both of them. My thoughts are with your family during your time of loss.
