Writer supports Sawatzke in bid for Dist. 2 board seat

To the editor:
As a past Wright County Commissioner, I served with Pat Sawatzke for six years. We generally agreed on issues, but sometimes didn’t, yet at the end of the day, we were always able to work together for the best interest of the county and its citizens.
We both served on various committees and task forces. One of the most important committees we worked on together was the Project Management Team responsible for the construction of our new Law Enforcement Center and County Jail. Managing this nearly $50 million project, while staying under budget and on-time, was a significant achievement for Wright County and its taxpayers.
Pat is all about efficient government and making government accountable to its citizens. He is fiscally conservative and willing to take a stand when it comes to taxes and spending.  He is our most experienced County Commissioner.  He has a thorough grasp of the budget and is instrumental in giving taxpayers a voice during the budget process.  Because of retirements and redistrict-ing there may be only one returning commissioner on the county board next January.  It has never been more important for us to have Pat’s experience on the board!  Pat governs with “you” in mind.
In addition to his financial leadership, Pat understands the important issues that preserve and enhance our quality of life. He works to protect our natural environment, advocates for farmers and rural residents, and promotes policies that maintain and improve water quality in our lakes. He grew up in this district and truly cares about Wright County.
At the Aug. 14 Primary Election, I encourage you to go to the polls and vote for Pat Sawatzke for District 2 Wright County Commissioner.
