Letter: Marriage amendment letter writer had plenty of courage

To the editor:

I would like to thank Alex Wipper for his letter last week. It takes great courage to write a letter like he did.
I was raised and have raised my children with the values that we are all different. Different is good. Life would be boring if we were all the same. Everyone deserves to be loved. Gay and lesbian couples deserve the same rights as married couples. They shouldn’t have to fight for what should be theirs automatically. Love is and should be unconditional.
We should all take a moment and look back on what history has taught us. Remember when society frowned on people of different faiths marrying? Or, people of different races? At the time, these types of marriages were different. Now, they are part of the norm. Times are different. It’s okay to take another look at marriage. It’s okay to change.
On Nov. 6, I am voting No on the Marriage Amendment. I am proud to say that so are my grown children.
