William L. Johnson, 87, Monticello, Minn., died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale, Minn.
No service will be held per Bill’s request.
Bill was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Sturgeon Lake, Minn., to John and Olga (Anderson) Johnson. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1946.
Bill married Marilyn Carol Puntila Sept. 22, 1946, in Carlton, Minn. He retired at age 67 from L.H. Sowles, and spent his free time helping family and friends with various projects from building houses to mechanical work.
He is survived by his wife; children, Mike, Moose Lake, Minn.; Bill, Kenosha, Wis.; Mark, Coleraine, Minn.; Lynn (Larry Smerud), Watertown, Minn.; and Ryan, Madison, S.D.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Prust, El Cajon, Calif.; Alice Newman, Sturgeon Lake, Minn.; Ida Mohn, Carlton; and Linda (Tom) Clarke, Duluth, Minn.
Arrangements were with Cremation Society of Minnesota, Edina Chapel.
