Letter: Thelen has inspiration, serves public
To the editor:
I am writing to voice my support for Rose Thelen for Wright County commissioner. As Maple Lake township supervisor, I have firsthand knowledge of her capability to serve the county as well as the type of leadership she represents.
At our last meeting, Rose was publicly thanked for all of her hard work and dedication and deservedly so. First of all, Rose attends our meetings regularly, and not just for the sake of making an appearance. She shows up and takes an interest in the problems we face, and has helped several times in coming up with solutions to these problems. Here is an example: Maple Lake was having trouble with junk violations and the role we were to play. Rose developed more user-friendly, step-by-step procedures for the township to use and then she brought the township and the assistant county attorneys together to further discuss and clarify the issues involved. Since then, we have made great progress in connecting with both residents and the county in dealing with this problem. She has also helped with issues regarding lake erosion, township signage, dog and other issues.
She has been an inspiration to me about how to serve the public. She listens to people, has good ideas, and if she doesn’t know the answer, she will investigate until she gets the answer. She keeps working until the job is done to make changes. This is what Rose does and this is why she should be the next District 2 commissioner.
