Letter: Former county engineer supports Thelen
To the editor:
I recommend that voters in District 2 vote for Rose Thelen for Wright County Commissioner. I recently retired as Wright County highway engineer after serving 43 years in public service. During my 31 years as Wright County Engineer, I served under 19 different county commissioners and have participated in about 1,200 county board meetings. This experience has given me a unique perspective on the role and effectiveness of a county commissioner in Wright County.
Rose Thelen is a hard worker who does her homework and works well with others. She is a thoughtful steward of taxpayer dollars. In our years of working together, we didn’t always agree, but I always felt respected by her. Rose always includes multiple perspectives and works for compromise when dealing with important issues. She is a visionary who is always looking for new approaches for the many challenges that develop in county government. I support Rose Thelen for District Two Wright County Commissioner. She deserves your vote on Nov. 6.
