Buffalo Republican O’Neill headed for election in District 29B

Buffalo Republican Marion O’Neill defeated DFL challenger Barrett Chrissis and Independence Party candidate Eugene Newcombe in Tuesday’s District 29B race.
With eight of nine precincts reporting early Wednesday morning, O’Neill tallied 7,106 votes (51.86 percent) while Chrissis received 5,665 votes (41.34 percent) and Newcombe 914 votes (6.67 percent). There were 18 write-in votes. District 29B includes the cities of Buffalo, Monticello, Maple Lake and the surrounding townships. O’Neill is owner of Irish Setters Tile & Glass Block, LLC. She also works as a Minnesota Senate legislative assistant. Chrissis is a 24-year police detective employed by the city of Buffalo. Newcome is currently retired and lives in Monticello.
