Margaret L. Pribyl, 93, Maple Lake, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Lake Ridge Care Center, Buffalo.
Visitation was at the church Saturday, with Mass of Christian Burial 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Fr. John Meyer officiated and burial followed at St. Timothy’s Catholic Cemetery.
Margaret Lillian Pribyl was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Maple Lake Township, Wright County, Minn. to William and Mary (Kaz) Derfler. As a very young child, her family moved to St. Paul and a few years later returned to Maple Lake. Margaret graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1938 and from Buffalo Teachers Training in 1940. She taught at many Wright County rural schools including Maple Lake, French Lake, and Monticello.
On Sept. 10, 1946 she married Victor George Pribyl at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. They purchased a farm in Chatham Township and farmed for 10 years prior to building a new home in the city of Maple Lake. She became manager of the Minnetonka Moccasin Factory. She then worked at Maple Lake Elementary School as a para-professional until her retirement in 1977.
Margaret was a member of St. Timothy’s Church, the Council of Catholic Women, VFW Post 7664 Life Member, American Legion Post 131 Auxiliary, and the Bohemian Fraternal Lodge.
She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her as a kind, considerate and generous neighbor and friend. And of course, will be remembered for her delicious poppy seed and prune Bohemian kolachy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Victor; sister Lydia (Clarence) Pribyl; brother Jerry (Bertha) Derfler; and brother Harvey Derfler.
The pallbearers were Loren Pribyl, Chris Nyquist, Scott Reiss, Mike Peterson, John Northenscold Jr, and Linus Latour. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
