Helen M. Swingley, 90, Monticello

Helen Marie Swingley, 90,  Monticello, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at the New River Medical Center of Monticello.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, Dec. 15, 1 p.m., at Alive Lutheran Church, 121 West Broadway, Monticello.  Pastor Greg Koepsell will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be a private interment.
Helen was born March 8, 1922, in Minneapolis, to Frank and Marie (Erickson) Ollinger. She married Lloyd Swingley on Jan. 25, 1945. She and her husband farmed in Silver Creek Township until 1967. Helen then worked at various factory jobs, and at Pinewood Elementary school in Monticello for 10 years until she retired at age 80.
She is survived by her children, John Swingley, Monticello; Edward (Janet) Swingley, Maple Lake; Joyce Swingley, Monticello; Eileen (Scott) Nelson, Bloomington; Carol (Jerry) Peterson, Avon;  seven grandchildren;  and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and brother Donald Ollinger.
Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.
