Carol L. Ellingson, 70, Maple Lake

Carol (Lindquist) Ellingson, 70, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral service was Saturday, Dec. 22, 11 a.m., at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 East Broadway, Monticello, Minn., with a private interment. Visitation was prior to the service, 9-11 a.m., at the Chapel.
Carol was born to Rev. Swante and Marion (Clare) Lindquist on July 17, 1942, in Swaziland, Africa. Her parents were missionaries there for many years.  She attended most of her high school years at Monticello High School and graduated from Buffalo High School.  She attended St. Cloud Beauty School, but found enjoyment in professional floral design. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and a grandmother. She was also known for her exceptional beauty, profound creativity, unique sense of humor, and the ability to make anyone feel like they were the most special person in the room.  She loved the Lord so deeply.
Carol is survived by her children, Michelle (Mitch) Rayl, Chloe Gagnon, Dean Gagnon, Darrin Olson, Rebecah (Dan) Martin, Rachel Olson, Bonnie (Chris) Cunningham; sisters, Anne Florell, and Judy (Doug) Bergstrom; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Ricky Ellingson; her parents; and brothers, Eddy and Peter Lindquist. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family are preferred.
