Lauren Elizabeth McDougall, 23, Monticello and St. Cloud, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 2. Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 from 2 p.m. to to 5 p.m. at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 E. Broadway, Monticello.  The funeral service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at the chapel. There will be a private interment.  Funeral arrangements are with Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.
Lauren was born May 14, 1989, in Minneapolis to Tim and Susie (Pegelow) McDougall.  She was just getting started in her career as an elementary teacher, working with a fourth-grade class in St. Cloud that she immediately fell in love with. Her passion for teaching started while attending Monticello High School, culminating with a degree from St. Cloud State University, where she graduate Summa Cum Laude in 2011. During those years, she never considered changing her major.
She is survived by her parents, Tim and Susie;  younger brother Ryan and immediate family, including her grandmother, Linnea McDougall;  aunts and uncles Jim Pegelow, Sally Blair (Steve), Andy Pegelow (Linda), Jane Schwarz (David), Maureen Pearson (Marston), Scott McDougall, Mike  McDougall (Marion), Colleen Schamber, Angela Wibbens (Scott);  and cousins Sarah Schreifels (Jason), Kelly Dima (Catalin), Phillip Pearson (Kimmie), Karly Schamber, Kasey Wibbens, Nick Pegelow, A.J. Pegelow, Krissy Schamber, Kimmie Schamber, and Kassidy Schamber;  and many close family friends to numerous to mention.  Grandparents Marion Roff, Chuck Pegelow, Mike McDougall and cousin Michael Blair preceded her in death. It is her parents wish Lauren’s family and friends take the time to not mourn, but to celebrate her short 23 years of a wonderful and fulfilling life.
