Joseph M. LaFromboise, 84, Monticello
Joseph Matthew LaFromboise “Gus”, 84, Monticello, Minn., died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at New River Medical Center in Monticello.
Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, Jan. 23, 11 a.m., at St. Michael Catholic Church. Father Peter Richards was the celebrant. Visitation was Tuesday, Jan. 22, at The Peterson Chapel, St. Michael/Albertville from 4-8 p.m. Further visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Interment was at St. Henry’s Catholic Cemetery in Monticello.
Joseph was born Oct. 3, 1928, in Willow City, N.D., the son of John and Sadie (Helland) LaFromboise. He married Mamie Cutschall in 1955. God blessed their family with three children.
He was a hardworking man who enjoyed golf, traveling, horseback riding, hunting and fishing. He grew up on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation and loved nature. He enjoyed sharing his wisdom with others and was a mentor to many.
Joseph is survived by his wife; children, Gary (Laura) LaFromboise, Ramsey, Minn.; Catherine (Robert) Wright, Naples, Flor.; and Renee (Robert) Freund, Hanover, Minn.; five grandchildren; brothers, Clifford LaFromboise and Sylvester LaFromboise.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Elizabeth and Marie; and brothers, Clarence, Father Benedict and John.
Pallbearers were Rob Freund, Tim Cutschall, Corey Helland, Erik Baden, Antoine LaFromboise, Robbie Dapeaux and David Dapeaux.

The Peterson Chapel, St. Michael/Albertville assisted the family with arrangements.
