Letter: Bowling fundraiser is an important community event

To the editor:

I have been involved with the Joey Bongaarts Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser from the very beginning. This one-day event raises money for scholarships and tuition for our youth.
There is a very small “core” group of people that do the planing and the brunt of the work for this event.
The actual day of the event you will see lots of volunteers giving of their time and talents.
For those of us that have been involved from the beginning, this has been a labor of love. It has helped with our healing process over the loss of a loved one, the reason for having this fundraiser.
The actual fundraiser starts with noon bowling; there is food all day and a raffle with items for everyone.
This is a wonderful community event. If you haven’t been to this event, you don’t know what you are missing. Bring your friends and enjoy the fun filled atmosphere.
Join us on Saturday, March 2, at River Lanes of St. Michael. For more info visit our web site at BowlingForJoey.com.
