Lila L. Fanberg, 93, Big Lake
Lila Lucille Fanberg, 93, Big Lake, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
Visitation was Saturday, Feb. 16, 3-4 p.m., at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 E. Broadway, Monticello. A memorial service was held Sunday, Feb. 17, 2:30 p.m., at Svea Hill Community Covenant Church, 16392 235th Ave., Big Lake. Interment was 1:30 p.m., at Svea Hill Cemetery prior to the service on Sunday.
Lila was born in Cherry County, Neb., Sept. 22, 1919, to Ira and Nellie (Wiedeman) Estle. She grew up in Kearney, Neb., and graduated from Kearney High in 1937 and Trinity College (Chicago) in 1940. In 1942 she married Eugene Fanberg. Together they started Sunday schools and churches in Montana and northern Minnesota before moving to the Big Lake area. Lila loved children and her desire was that they would accept Jesus in their lives.
She is survived by her children, Raymond Fanberg, Colorado; Marlene (Ronald) Schultz, Big Lake; Donna Forsberg, Georgia; Joan (Chris) Thole, North Dakota; Charles (Roberta) Fanberg, Costa Rica; Paul (Karen) Fanberg, Big Lake; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Lila was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and siblings, Glenn Estle, Ermil Musil, Mina Norberg, Cecil Estle, Arlene Struble and Erlene Estle.
