Dennis John Loxtercamp, 75, Big Lake, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at his home in Big Lake, Minn.
Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, March 27, 11 a.m., at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. The Rev. Mark Stang officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Monticello, and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Parish prayers were at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, at the church in Monticello.
Dennis was born March 23, 1938, in Getty Township, Stearns County, Minn. to Alois and Cecelia (Zenzen) Loxtercamp. He graduated from Sauk Centre High School and continued his education to be a depot engineer. Depot engineers were no longer needed and he continued his career to woodworking, where he worked for 42 years at H.C. Osvold. On Oct. 29, 1961, he married Rosalie “Rosie” Fiedler at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, Minn. Dennis worked for the Brooklyn Park Fire Department for 22 years. Throughout his life, he lived in Northeast Minneapolis, Brooklyn Park and Big Lake. Dennis enjoyed traveling, working, furniture making, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Monticello.
Survivors include his wife; children, Lisa Emery, North Minneapolis; Greta (Raymond) Witzman, Princeton; and Marty Loxtercamp, Silver Creek; four grandchildren; and siblings, Roger (Rosella “Rosie”) Loxtercamp, Rogers; Eugene (Patricia “Pat”) Loxtercamp, Sauk Centre; and Lucille (Paul) Jager, Waseca.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Melrose.
