Letter: Resident thanks city crews for keeping streets clear during winter

To the editor:

Looking back at what the weather has been like during the past four months, I would like to extend a great big pat on the back to the employees of the street department who were responsible for driving the snow plows, keeping our streets clear of ice and snow.
There were times when the city plows were out even before it started snowing, pretreating the pavement surfaces so that it would be more efficient to clean the roads when it started snowing. I always felt completely safe driving on the residential streets, specifically my street (Farmstead ave. and School Blvd.) and the other streets leading around town. I can only presume that this great work is made possible by the city council, the city manager, and the street department supervisor.
Keep up the good work!
