MHS grad Grace Fair honored as scholar-athlete

Grace Fair, a 2009 Monticello High School graduate, and a senior swimmer at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, has been honored for her impressive efforts both in the pool and out.
According to the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire Official Swimming and Diving website, Fair was one of three recipients of the 2013 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Judy Kruckman Women’s Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete Award.
Fair, who is after a mass communications – public relations major and a business administration minor,  holds a 3.92 grade point average according to the Blugold’s website.
She was also named to the 2012 Capital One NCAA Division III Academic All-District Six Women’s At-Large First Team and is  a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
Fair has shown leadership qualities in the classroom, in the pool, and even in the work world already.
According to the Eau Claire website, she is a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators.  Fair has also served as a campus ambassador, a student research assistant and teaching assistant at UW-Eau Claire.  She has worked as a public relations intern for Wisconsin Public Radio and local YMCA.
In the pool the team captain has been a member of two All-America Honorable Mention relay teams and she won the 100-yard freestyle at the 2012 WIAC championship.  Fair has been part of two relay squads that own school records and was voted her team’s “Most Inspirational.”
