Kenneth Raymond Abrahamson, 92, St. Louis Park, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013.

Kenneth was eighth of nine children born to Swedish immigrant parents, Frank and Amanda Abrahamson. He was raised on his parents’ farm near Enfield in Silver Creek Township, Wright County. He attended the one-room Enfield school, then Monticello, Minn. High School. Following the Pearl Harbor attack he enlisted in the Navy and from 1942 to 1945 was assigned to the battle-damage repair ship, USS Oceanus ARB2 where he served until the end of the war. Following his discharge he returned to the University of Minnesota then transferred to the Dunwoody Institute. Upon graduation he joined the Minneapolis contractor Hauenstein & Burmeister where he remained for 40 years.
In 1946 he married Kathryn Stover who also had graduated from Monticello High School. They made their home in St. Louis Park.
He is survived by his wife; son Gary Leo; and grandson Kenneth Richard, both of Colorado.
Kenneth was preceded in death by five brothers, Edwin, Verner, Martin, Arthur and Alvin, and two sisters, Hilma and Helen.
