I-94 construction zone set to reopen to four lanes Memorial Day Weekend

The 7.5 mile Interstate 94 Clearwater to St. Cloud construction zone is scheduled to return to four lanes of traffic throughout the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend.

Both directions of I-94 have been reduced to a single lane 24-hours per day, seven days per week. That changes Memorial Day Weekend (May 24 to May 27), when all lanes of I-94 will be open, as well as Fourth of July week (July 2 to July 7), said J.P. Gillach, MnDOT District 3 public affairs coordinator.

Crews have been placing a concrete overlay on the existing road surface and reconstructing height clearances beneath four overpasses as well as replacing guardrails and cable median barriers. Project work is estimated at $16.4 million.
