Motorists travelling Interstate 94 between St. Michael and Monticello may encounter non-rush hour delays as overnight lane closures begin Monday, June 3.
I-94 between the Crow River bridge near Highway 241 in St. Michael and County Road 18 in Monticello will be intermittently reduced to a single lane during non-rush hours.
The closures are needed as crews resurface and repair the road, install high tension median guardrail and make other road repairs.
When complete, the project will result in a smoother ride and extend the pavement’s lifespan along 12 miles of busy interstate.
More information is available at the project’s website at www.dot.state.mn.us/d3/i94/commute.html.
Interstate 94 between Clearwater and St. Cloud was reduced to a single lane in each direction starting at 9 a.m. this morning.
According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), interstate traffic was switched to two-way traffic and a 60 m.p.h. posted speed on new eastbound lanes while crews construct new westbound lanes.
The lane closures are part of the I-94 Clearwater to St. Cloud resurfacing project. More information can be found at www.dot.state.mn.us/d3/i94/.
