Monticello City Council members have authorized an appraisal of church property that would be affected by the proposed Fallon Avenue overpass project.
City leaders unanimously approved the appraisal Monday after a brief presentation and discussion with Bret Weiss, president of WSB & Associates, Inc., the city’s consulting engineering firm.
The St. Henry Church property appraisal is scheduled for this fall and will not exceed $5,000 in cost, the council decided. The city needs to acquire right of way from the St. Henry’s Catholic Church, 1001 E. Seventh St. in order to complete the Fallon Avenue improvement project.
