Monticello joined ranks with 14 communities last week in being recognized, proclaimed and designated a Minnesota Army National Guard Yellow Ribbon City.
Beyond the Yellow Ribbon steering committee members attended a June 19 ceremony at Camp Ripley’s Emergency Management Training Center in Little Falls.
“The outward showing of support by these communities and companies eases the burden for military families, assists the transition from warrior to citizen, supports veterans of any era and builds stronger and more compassionate communities,” said Annette B. Kuyper, the guard’s director of military outreach.
