Monticello council approves contract for economic development services

Monticello City Council members have approved a $48,000 contract with consulting engineering firm WSB & Associates to provide economic development services.WSB’s current service product is tailored to Monticello’s needs and the evolving idea of using sales-based economic development.
The company’s “market matching” concept builds a foundation of inventory and asset information that the city would pay to create above and beyond the salary paid to a city staff person, City Administrator Jeff O’Neill, Finance Director Wayne Oberg and Community Development Director Angela Schumann stated in a June 24 background memo.
