Monticello Chamber of Commerce & Industry Director Sandy Suchy has announced she will leave her position effective Friday, July 19.
Suchy’s announcement was emailed Thursday. “It has been a very difficult decision as I love everything the chamber stands for and all that I’ve done to represent the business community,” she wrote. “I treasure the last eight-plus years that I have been with all of you.”
Chamber membership increased from 150 to almost 350 members during Suchy’s service as chamber director. Several community and chamber activities and a legislative component were added to chamber programing and the organization during her time as director, she said.
“I hope you understand ‘business as usual’ may take a little extra time during the office staff transition, but I want to assure you the board will get someone new in place as quick as possible,” she wrote, adding Assistant Director Marcy Anderson and current board members will continue to provide assistance. She added: “I hope to see many of you during Riverfest activities this weekend and I welcome you to stay in touch. Thank you again for giving me the privilege to serve you.”
