Phillip Gregory LaVallee, age 19, Monticello passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 4 p.m.to 8 p.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church, 1001 East Seventh S., Monticello. Further visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Wednesday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church with Fr. Tony VanderLoop officiating. There will be a private interment. Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.
Phillip was born on Sept. 21, 1993 in Robbinsdale, Minn. to Gregory and Amy (Hollister) LaVallee. He grew up in Monticello and graduated from Monticello High School in 2012. He was currently attending South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D. In high school and college, he was a part of the track and cross country teams. He loved hockey, running, disc golf, camping, pheasant hunting and most outdoor activities. His warm smile and great sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Phillip is survived by his parents, Greg and Amy; brothers Andrew and Marcus; grandparents Lloyd and Aggie LaVallee, Dan and Donna Kellas, and Andrea Hollister; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Crandall Hollister.
