Quirino ‘Q’ Loredo, 61, Princeton, and formerly of Monticello, Minn., died unexpectedly of a sudden heart attack at his summer home in Otis, Ore. on Aug. 8, 2013.
A Celebration of Life open house is being held in Q’s memory in Oregon on Sept. 7, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held at Q’s home church, Alive Lutheran, 121 W. Broadway St. in downtown Monticello, on Sept. 28., beginning at 11 a.m. Lunch and fellowship following.
Q was born on Jan. 9, 1952, in Sebastian, Texas. He later lived in California and relocated to Oregon in 1988. He married Betty (Neske) Becker on June 4, 1999, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Minn. They enjoyed life together between their homes in Otis and Princeton, Minn.
Q had many talents and worked in the woodworking and welding inspection trades; he retired in 2009. He was a friendly, caring man. He loved the simple pleasures of life; spending time with family and friends, nature, exploring, fishing, crabbing, photography, tinkering with motors, and tending his yard. He was a lifelong learner, and enjoyed teaching and showing others, especially kids, something new.
Q was a faithful member in his church and various AA groups. His welcoming and caring nature, warm smile, hugs, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His favorite spots were the Salmon River and Pacific City in Oregon.
Q is survived by his loving wife; siblings Jorge (Kim) Loredo, Isidoro (Shirley) Loredo, Juanita (Jose) Poblete, Maxina (Jeremy) Melton, and Dora Loredo, all of California; daughters, Gregoria (Steve) Fernandez and Demetria (Antonio) Borja, also of California. Also daughters ‘in heart’ Brenda (Lauren) Wolff, Annandale; and Stacy (Paul) Eull, St. Michael; snd seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Antonia (Lara) Loredo; stepmother Beatrice, brother Pedro “Pete” Loredo and sister Trinidad Loredo, all of California.
