CentraCare starts Monticello birth center renovation project

Amie Bartlett, CentraCare Health – Monticello’s recently hired birth center manager, will be putting families first when the new center opens this December.

Bartlett has more than 14 years of experience as a labor and delivery nurse including work on the neonatal intensive care unit at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

She graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Minnesota State University Moorhead and spent nine years in nursing  at St. Cloud Hospital’s Labor and Delivery Department.

Earlier this week, Bartlett joined Lynn Christian, RN, BSN, director of nursing at CentraCare Health – Monticello and Joni Pawelk, CentraCare Health – Monticello’s director of marketing, to talk about construction and staffing of what will be a new birth experience option for families in the community.

Construction officially started Friday, Aug. 23. “We are doing a complete facelift of the labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms,” Bartlett said. “The unit will have a total of six rooms, with one of them being a triage room. “We hope to start seeing patients in December,” she added.
