Monticello youth confronted Monday by knife-wielding robber

A 14-year-old Monticello youth was allegedly confronted Monday afternoon by a man with a knife and forced to turn over his iPod and headphones, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office has reported.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a robbery near Fallon Avenue and Starling Drive shortly before 1:15 p.m. Monday. The 14- year-old male reported that he was confronted by a white male with a knife. The alleged suspect is described as 5-feet, 10 inches to 6 feet in height and 20 to 30 years old

According to a news release issued this afternoon (Tuesday, Sept. 3) by the Wright County Sheriff’s office, the man was wearing a black hoodie, dark jeans and skateboard shoes.

The subject also was described as being “scruffy,” the news release stated.
