ALDI discount grocery chain interested in Monticello site

Discount grocery chain ALDI is interested in bringing one of its stores to Monticello.

The Monticello Planning Commission has scheduled an Oct. 1 public hearing to review the company’s preliminary and final plat request for Outlot B in the Monticello Business Center as well as a conditional use permit for cross access.

ALDI is a discount grocery chain that operates over 1,200 stores in 32 states. According to the company’s ALDI USA corporate website, there are currently 20 ALDI locations in Minnesota.

The proposed store would be located at the corner of School Boulevard and Cedar Street, directly across from the Monticello Walmart.
