Two area Burger King robbery incidents under investigation

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating an armed robbery that occurred Thursday morning¬† at the Monticello Burger King at 200 Seventh St. E.

The sheriff’s office was notified the armed robbery at 5:18 a.m. Sept. 19. According to a news release, a white male wearing all black clothing and a ski mask approached a store employee when the restaurant was being opened.

The alleged suspect showed a black handgun and forced the employee into the store, taking an undetermined amount of money. Officers checked the area but did not find a suspect, the news release stated.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating an incident that occurred at 12:43 a..m. the same morning at a Burger King located in Clearwater.

An employee was leaving the store’s parking lot at 945 Ash St.¬† in a vehicle Sept. 19 when a male subject tapped on the vehicle’s window with a black handgun.

The employee subsequently fled the scene in their vehicle. The alleged suspect was described as being dressed in all black. An area search did not locate the suspect.
