A semi truck rolled over Tuesday morning in Monticello, causing the closure of the on ramp to eastbound 94 at Hwy. 25.

The on ramp to eastbound Interstate-94 off of Highway 25 in Monticello is now open after being temporarily closed when a semi-truck rolled over there Tuesday morning. Traffic was temporarily directed along eastbound Chelsea Road across County Road 18/Fenning Avenue to eastbound I-94. According to Sgt. Jessie Grabow with the Minnesota State Patrol, troopers responded to the rollover crash at 9:15 am. The driver and owner of the semi, Steven Aakhus, 46, from Wyoming, Minn. was transported by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries to CentraCare Health-Monticello. The load of large paper rolls Aakhus was transporting shifted and contributed to the crash, the patrol stated, causing the ramp to be shut down for approximately two hours. Grabow confirmed that Aakus was cited by the state patrol for unsecured load.
