Residents and business owners are invited to learn about traffic changes, construction plans and other details for a project that will reconstruct Interstate 94 between Wright County Road 18 and Highway 25 in Monticello.
Two open houses will be held at Monticello Community Center, 505 Walnut St., in the Mississippi Room, MnDOT stated in a news release Monday:
- Business owners and managers are invited to a presentation and open house Monday, March 3, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- A public open house will follow the business meeting from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the same location.
Those attending either event can learn about the project’s schedule and planned lane and ramp closures, get information on the noise wall, view a preliminary layout of the project and take home project information.
Staff from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Shafer Contracting and the city of Monticello will also be on hand to take comments and answer questions.
Construction and lane closures are scheduled to begin April 1.
When complete, the project will result in a smoother ride, improved traffic flow and safety along three miles of I-94. The project will also improve drainage, signal systems and accessibility on the interstate and local roads.
