After months of preparation, the 90,000 square-foot Monticello Runnings store opened over the weekend at 300 W. 7th street, in the former K-Mart.
“We’re very excited to finally be open.” said Store Manager Brandon Grover in a news relesae. “Our team has put a lot of hard work into getting the store ready and the response from customers has been very positive. We’re very thankful to everyone for their warm welcome and invite them to stop in and see our new store.”
Runnings sells an extensive selection of sporting goods, clothing, housewares, tools, pet, farm, lawn & garden, toys and more. Along with a large inventory of hunting, archery and fishing equipment, Runnings will sell a wide assortment of pistols, rifles and shotguns.
Runnings hours are 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Founded in 1947, Runnings is privately owned and operated by the Dennis and Adele Reed Family. The company currently has 34 stores and employs more than 1,300 workers across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana. The company recently announced plans to open 3 new stores in upstate New York in the fall of this year.
For more than 65 years, the company has remained committed to offering customers high quality products, competitive prices and friendly service.
