Jack Frost has (finally) left Monticello. That means next week, motorists can expect both directions of I-94 to be reduced to a single lane overnight, up to seven days a week, beginning Monday, April 14.
Crews will begin work to reconstruct I-94 through Monticello.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) reported Thursday that lanes could begin to close as early as 8 p.m. most days. These initial closures are expected to last about a month.
More significant traffic changes will begin in mid-May when the westbound lanes of I-94 are closed, all lanes of I-94 are switched to the eastbound side of the road, and the I-94 ramps in Monticello begin to open and close.
It’s going to be a busy year of construction and traffic changes in Monticello. Check out www.mndot.gov/d3/monti/ for updates and project links.
