The 127th annual commencement ceremonies for Monticello High School were held Friday, June 6, inside the fieldhouse with the Class of 2014 graduating seniors receiving their diplomas.
According to District 882 records, the total number of Monticello High School graduates now exceeds 11,000. Commencement addresses were provided by Caleb Biasco and Amber Seidenkranz, who were selected as speakers from a group of 11 honor students earning 4.0 grade point averages throughout high school.
The remaining honor students appeared in special commencement video presentation. Video participants included Levi Biasco, Anne Dockendorf, Kylie Gaeth, Amanda Gerold, Allison Gorseth, Mackenzie JohnsonRenee Kasper, Christine Lui, Hannah Schleder and Amber Seidenkranz.
An empty wheelchair ands rose were placed in the fieldhouse entrance by the Class of 2014 to remember classmate Tyler Sweet, who passed away during the 2013-2014 school year.Following commencement ceremonies, graduates attended the All-Night Grad Party at the Monticello Middle School starting at 10 p.m. (Photos by Tim Hennagir)
