Walk ‘N Roll has wet, windy start but conditions improve

The 2014 edition of Walk ‘N Roll, Monticello’s  pathway-based community celebration started wet and windy Saturday morning but conditions later improved during the annual city of Monticello and Chamber of Commerce event.

Walk ‘N Roll is a chance for all residents to enjoy Monticello’s parks and trail system. Walk ‘N Roll and its Pathway Partners were promoted through approximately 10,000 “Pathports,” a colorful brochure mailed to all Monticello households and select households within Big Lake and Becker.

Walk ‘N Roll featured number of activities in West Bridge Park as well as booths that stretched from East Bridge Park down to Ellison Park. CentraCare Health – Monticello’s Bike Rodeo and Helmet Sale was also part of this year’s event. Bike helmets were sold for $3 each on a first-come basis. Pathway activities took place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Prize drawings were held at 12:30 p.m. For more about Walk ‘N Roll, visit http://www.monticellocci.com. (Photos by Tim Hennagir)
