Monticello Fire Department conducts controlled burn at 601 Elm St.

The Monticello Fire Department burned down the vacant house at 601 Elm Street (aka the pink house) in a training exercise today (Sunday, Jan. 8).

Elm Street was closed between Sixth Street and Seventh Street from approximately noon to 4:30 p.m. to allow fire fighters to work in the area, Monticello Communications Coordinator Rachel Leonard stated in a news release.
