Susan Margaret Thimmesh (Blake)

Susan Margaret Thimmesh Blake), age 69, of Monticello passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at CentraCare Health Services in Monticello.
Susan was born December 13, 1947 to Beverly and Ethel Blake in Yakima, Washington. Later on the family moved to the Seattle area.
She worked for the Monticello School District for 35 years, eventually working in every school building, resulting in the impacting of many lives, from students to teachers, especially Pinewood, her final assignment, upon her forced retirement due to Parkinson’s disease, January 1, 2011, working with Autistic children.
Susan was proficient at cooking, sewing, and crocheting. She and her husband, Ron, enjoyed many years of travel, especially by train, out west. Their travel adventures started at the beginning of their romance in Seattle, Washington, fall of 1964, while Ron was in the Navy, eventually marrying February 5, 1966, in Osakis, Minnesota. She enjoyed hospitality, bringing friends and family together, especially Bible study. Sue loved being in God’s Word and being outdoors. She loved life especially with her three grandchildren whom she was greatly proud of and provided them with many enriching “field trips.”
Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John.
She is survived by her husband, Ron; son, Matthew; daughter, Amy (David) Lara; grandchildren, David, Christian, and Emma Lara; brother, Ron Blake; sister, Debi (Monty) Griffin; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Celebration of Susan’s life will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, with visitation at 9 a.m. at Bethany Bible Church, 511 Eagle Lake Road North in Big Lake, Minnesota.
