Sharon “Sherry” Frances Larson

Sharon “Sherry” Frances Larson, age 70, of Monticello passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sharon was born June 25, 1947 in Springfield, MN to Ralph and Frances (Ludwig) Eichten. The sixth of eight children, Sharon lived in Wanda, MN until she was two when the family moved to Ethan, SD where she attended school until she was 12. The family then moved to Maple Lake, MN where she went to St. Timothy’s Catholic and Maple Lake Public Schools.
She married David Larson on April 10, 1964 in Northwood, IA. Together they were blessed with two children, Kevin and Paula. The family lived in Maple Lake until moving to Monticello in 1986. Sharon had a daycare for a while and worked part time in Minneapolis for 30 years.
She loved country music, reading, dancing, playing cards and slots, taking pictures; but most of all spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. She loved cooking and especially baking for her children, grand and great grandchildren and special friends. She was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Monticello.
Sharon is survived by her children Kevin (Anne) of Clearwater and Paula (Todd) Roberts of Monticello; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Joyce Schneider of Mitchell, SD, Ralph (Karen) Eichten of Mountain Home, AR, Darlene Eichten of Maple Lake, MN, Carol (Lawrence) Wurm of Maple Lake, MN, Lawrence (Red) (Cathi) Eichten of Mesa, AZ, Russell (Bev) Eichten of Holdingford, MN, Pat (Fred) Culp of Monticello; brother-in-law Loren (Lynda) Larson of Buffalo, MN, Ken Remer of Rogers, MN; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband David; parents Ralph and Frances Eichten; brother Dennis (Pete) Eichten; brother-in-law James Schneider; grandson Jeremy Larson; special friend Joe Caldwell.
Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church; 1001 7th St. E in Monticello. Visitation will be on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel; 250 East Broadway in Monticello and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at St. Henry Catholic Cemetery.
